Our Story
Goblinhollow was founded from a lifelong passion for animals that grew into a commitment to preserve the Beauceron and support the wider dog community.

We remain intentionally small, allowing us to give each dog our full attention and care. Through sport, exhibition, and community involvement across Canada and the United States, we always aim to showcase the Beauceron’s versatility and spirit.

Breeding at Goblinhollow is not a business, but a deep respect for the breed and the legacy of those who shaped it. We breed thoughtfully and sparingly, guided by integrity, the breed’s history, and its long-term health.

At Goblinhollow, we honour the Beauceron’s heritage while contributing to its future through selective breeding, education, and active community engagement.

Hi Hello, I'm Emily!
I am the owner, trainer and chaos wrangler behind the scenes of Goblinhollow. From childhood, I was the kid who loved dogs, immersed in books, shows, and time spent with my family’s stubborn Irish Setter. As a teenager, fostering rescues and training with local professionals deepened my understanding of behaviour and animal care.

After studying and living abroad, I returned home ready to immerse myself in the world of purebred dogs. The Beauceron, with its wit, loyalty, and humour, captured my heart completely. Biscuit arrived in early 2022, marking the start of what became a family passion.

Today, I train and compete in Conformation, Rally, Obedience, IGP, and harness sports, constantly learning through mentorship and collaboration with dedicated breeders, veterinarians, and trainers. Our family remains active in the dog community through our local kennel club, volunteer work, and our advocacy for responsible, ethical breeding.

I believe that breeding is both an art and a science. It is complex, nuanced, and deeply rooted in responsibility. Every decision reflects my commitment to transparency, ethical practices, and the long-term wellbeing of this incredible breed.

We’re proud to carry the legacy of this breed forward in our small way—boldly, faithfully, and elegantly—and to share their depth and distinction with others who value them as we do.

Our Philosophy
Our philosphy is rooted around our motto of "Form - Function - Fidelity"
At Goblinhollow, we believe the essence of the Beauceron lies in its balance, versatility, robustness, and unmistakeable type. Each breeding is planned with care and purpose, prioritizing sound structure, stable temperament, and lasting health.

We recognize that breeding is never without uncertainty, yet we still opt to approach it with honesty, transparency, and deep respect for the breed. Through education, mentorship, and active involvement in the dog community, we continue to learn, refine, and uphold the highest standards of care.

Above all, we value integrity, collaboration, and good sportsmanship, ensuring every step we take honours both the dogs we produce and the legacy of the Beauceron itself.
Versatility & Predictability
We prioritize temperaments that are stable, predictable, and clear-headed; dogs that are reliable in work and easy to live with. True to their roots as France’s “country gentleman,” the Beauceron’s biddable and adaptable nature allows it to excel in any pursuit while remaining a wonderful companion. Our goal is a dog of balance and versatility: capable, confident, and a joy to share life with.
Health & Longevity
We go beyond minimum health testing requirements to ensure our dogs have the best chance at a long and vibrant life. By prioritizing comprehensive screening of things we cannot test for and careful selection of things we can, we aim to stack the odds in favour of lasting health and well-being for the dogs and their families.
Breed Type & Structure
Our breeding program is rooted in the preservation of Beauceron breed type. In adherence to CKC, AKC, and FCI standards, we aim to produce dogs that reflect the rustic elegance and functional soundness that defines their working heritage. Our goal is always to take pride in what we opt to have representing the breed in show rings in Canada, the United States and beyond.
